Pumpkins have become the symbol for Halloween. Many pumpkins are carved into frightening designs and placed onto the porch with a candle inside. These pumpkins are commonly known as jack o'lanterns. Another method of design includes painting the pumpkin. This method allows you to keep the pumpkin intact for additional uses, such as using it later to make a pumpkin pie or even as a centerpiece for a Halloween party.

Paint the pumpkin. Dip your brush into the white paint and spread it on the pumpkin. Cover all the crevices of the pumpkin with the paint. Allow it to dry for at least one hour.

Draw a circle at the top of the pumpkin with a black magic marker. Continue to draw circles every 2 inches down the pumpkin. Cover the entire pumpkin with circles.

Run a line down the natural crevices of the pumpkin. Make a firm, thin continuous line from the top of the pumpkin to the end of the pumpkin for a spider web effect.

Stick the feet of creepy crawlers, like bugs, snakes or insects, into super glue and attach them to the pumpkin. Give them time to dry.

    Optional Centerpiece
Slice the top off the pumpkin. Scoop out the seeds and allow it to dry inside.

Cut a brick of plant foam to fit inside the pumpkin. Soak the cut foam in a container of water. Stick it inside the pumpkin.

Snip the ends off your flowers. Push the stems into the plant foam inside the pumpkin. Arrange the flowers to create a balanced display, with the largest flowers in the middle and the smaller ones on the sides.

Hot glue spiders to the tops of bamboo skewer sticks. Allow the glue to harden. Cut the sticks to size and add them to the centerpiece in between the flowers.
