While the thought of bringing home your baby is an exciting one, the daunting task of decorating the nursery can be quite the opposite. This is especially true if you are not thrilled with the idea of painting the nursery. Besides, who enjoys the tedious chore of taping off doors and windows so paint doesn't get on them, anyway? Decorating your baby's room needn't be stressful or require color chips and paintbrushes. This article will give you ideas that are sure to be stress-free--not to mention paint-free.

Make old things new again. Shadow boxes are perfect for displaying the outfits you (or perhaps even your parents) wore as babies. These items create the perfect sense of nostalgia for you and your baby.

Decorate the nursery walls with plants. Simple shelves can hold decorative plants that will add the perfect touch. This use of greenery is both aesthetically pleasing and healthy.

Get creative with collages. Why stick all of those lovely congratulatory cards in the baby book, out of sight? Pin them to the nursery walls (out of reach of the baby, of course) and you will impress your friends with the reminders of their kind words for the new baby. You can arrange them in one cluster or use them as a type of border around the entire nursery.

Decorate with pillows. Letter pillows are relatively easy to make. (Remember middle-school home economics?) Create pillows with each letter of your baby's name in colors that suit your taste. Simply hang them above the crib to create a work of art your baby will enjoy and you will take pride in for years.
