Dali (1904-1989) painted in a variety of styles, although he is best known for his Surrealist paintings such as "The Persistence of Memory". In the later stages of his life, he had a classic period in which he painted religious and scientific themes; "Sacrament of the Last Supper" at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. is a good example from this period.
