When you are decorating the rooms in your home, you may not want to paint the walls using the standard flat, basic paint colors. One solution is to apply a few paper decorations on top of standard wall paint to create a wall decoupage. You need to use only a few basic craft materials to add paper decorations to wall paint.

Cut out 12-inch shapes from decorative papers using scissors or pinking shears. Cut out as many shapes as you prefer. Scissors will cut the edges of the shapes with a straight edge, while pinking shears will cut the edges of the shapes with a scalloped edge.

Paint your walls using colored latex wall paint with a roller paintbrush.

Press the cut-out shapes onto the wall with the patterned side facing out. Slide your hand over the shapes to remove any air bubbles. Allow the walls to dry for 12 hours.

Paint on a layer of clear latex wall paint using a clean roller paintbrush. Cover the walls and cut-out paper decorations completely. Allow the walls to dry for another 12 hours.
