I see a painting of the American west. The American West was often seen as a beauty and a danger. In the darkness you think that you see something frightening, wild perhaps, and in the light you see some kind of heavenly eden. There is a contrast between Nature's soft comforting beauty, and its rigid wild appearance. On the edges of the painting there are wild trees and massive looming cliffs of sharp hard rocks. In the center, you find a warm sunlight, and fertile river adorned with nice grass and trees.
This looks like the work (and fits in the time era and locations) of the hudson river school painters, which was a group of american artists who painted many things like this. This actually could very well be one of them, i dont know. Consider doing some research on them if you want some further help for whatever project or study you are doing
