What do you think is happening in the famous painting “The Scream” by Edvard Munch?

There was this guy, hitchhiking down a road. He had to make it to the next town by five thirty or he'd lose his room reservation, and there wouldn't be any more rooms available because there was going to be this big rock concert in town, and this guy had tickets, but really didn't want to spend the night sleeping on the ground.

So, anyway, after nine different cars didn't stop for him, this guy was so frustrated and angry, he held his head in his hands and screamed in rage.

Either that, or a coyote was munching on his leg, just out of the frame.

Maybe. It COULD have happened that way! Do YOU have a better story? If you do, then why are you asking US to do your homework for you.

Now, I'm not going to do your homework for you, but personally it appears to me that he is closing his ears from a very loud sound. The original German title for the painting is "Der Schrei der Natur" (the Scream of Nature) which is an appropriate title for that explanation.
