What impact does Vincent van Gogh's work have on a community, group of individuals, or the rest of the world?

Well during that time the popular art was more muted and traditional. When he was around 18 he was a art dealer for a time. Van Gogh before 1880 was also more into this style until he traveled to paris. He was deeply influenced by the bright color schemes of art work / architech. Later he started a relationship with a prostitute since his cousin rejected his romantic advances.(which his family strongly disaproved of ) He suffered from a unknown mental illness..some say he was a very tortured depressed man. In his lifetime he only sold one painting the red vinyard. He wasnt a sucsessful artist in that time but later his paintings became more popular after he died.
