Paint stain on carpet - tried everything, should I just let them take it out of my deposit?

I was painting a bookshelf in my spare bedroom and left the paint can on the ground with a few books on top of it to keep the lid shut. Some how the can got spilled and all but a cup more or less ended up in one spot on the carpet. It was half full.. Well I got as much of the paint out of it as I could and I tried everything suggested that I could without buying anything else - which would be just Hydrogen Peroxide and Dish detergent.

I've spilled a half-gallon on carpet and got it out. The best way is to remove as much as possible by scraping the bulk off the surface when still wet first. Then scrub with soapy water, blotting up with clean towels as you proceed. The next step is the most important. You scrub not harder, but lighter and lighter the top surface only. What is under the surface stays there, and what you see is clean. You do not scrub so hard as to bring the paint back up. Maybe the underside stays stained, but not the top. You can't see any stain at all. I can say this has happened in various amounts and colors at least six or seven times and has worked every time.
