Diego Velazquez

Diego Velazquez Paintings

When looking to decorate the home or office, there are few better ways than having a beautiful European painting to not only remember the time in which it was painted, but to bring atmosphere and a new mood to the room where it is hung. Diego Velazquez was one of the greatest European painters in history, who focused on the reality of the times rather than trying to beautify something that was dark. Using vivid colors and painting on a variety of different subjects, Diego Velazquez painted his way to incredible reverence, which is captured in each and every one of the Diego Velazquez Paintings.

Diego Velazquez was brought into this world in 1599, in the area of Seville. Before truly painting at the level that he did before his death, he began an apprenticeship under Francisco de Herrera, but quickly moved onto to apprentice under Francisco Pacheco, who shaped his style of painting. Pacheco was an incredible painter who painted on the way that society was, as well as the many different aspects of humankind, and the Diego Velazquez Paintings mirror this in a beautiful, sometimes disturbing fashion.

When Diego Velazquez turned 18, he began to study at the painters' guild "St. Luke" located in Seville. Here, he was able to collaborate with a variety of other incredible painters, and picked up more than a few different techniques to portray his message on the canvas that he so often visited. With each painting, the Diego Velazquez Paintings began to take more and more shape, showing stark contrast to many of the paintings that were growing famous at the time by using sensual themes along with deep inner thoughts. This brought Diego Velazquez much fame, but not nearly as he received in his future years as a painter.

You can own one of these incredible works of art on canvas for your own home. The line of Diego Velazquez Paintings feature a variety of different topics that focus on humankind, each of which still holds true today. Not only will the paintings portray a sense of deep emotion in each and every individual who views them, but they evoke thought that goes far beyond the painting itself. When looking for a luminous style of painting that can be used in absolutely any space, the Diego Velazquez Paintings are absolutely the perfect way to go for your home or office.
