Chinese sentence translation help?

Hi, I'm in Chinese III and I would like help translating the last sentence from this lesson in my textbook (simplified characters). The context is a little weird. The lesson in general was two characters having a dialogue comparing/contrasting traditional Chinese paintings (Zhongguo hua) and oil paintings (youhua). The character that was explaining had a lot to say and was very opinionated. The sentences I need help with come at the very end of the dialogue with the other character talking. I don't understand how the last sentence should be translated in this context.

I know the definitions of the words, I just don't understand the "hai xiang kankan" (what does this mean) and the "zenmeyang" (not question!) usage. Thanks in advance!

还 is like still want to, or can possibly be used as even though or despite

想 is think, and 看看 is see

 

so it would sort of be like thank you for the recommendation/introduction, but i still want to see how the artist draws.

 

怎么样 here is used to mean how

so the sentence literally translated is but i want to see the artist draw, how

or basically how the artist draws
