How would you describe edward hoppers style of painting?

im not sure what to write for this bit of my homework

i have basically said 'I would describe Edward Hoppers style of painting as clear and clean. the outdoor and country scences look fresh and he used light and pale colours making his paintings sharp and eyecatching.'

could make that better or tell me anything i might need to add

 don't know if this helps but, regarding his style, Hopper defined himself as “an amalgam of many races” and not a member of any one particular style or school.
His style was described by critic Lloyd Goodrich as “Stark rural and urban scenes that uses sharp lines and large shapes, played upon by unusual lighting to capture the lonely mood of his subjects.” Though a realist painter, Hopper’s “soft” realism simplified shapes and details. He used saturated color to heighten contrast and create mood.

Hopper objected to his being lumped with the Ashcan school, as he sometimes was.

A possible suggestion:
You might think about leaving out the word “pale”
.... maybe something more like "He used placement of light and cast shadows to make his paintings sharp and eye catching".
While "pale", "soft" or "diffused" describes the colorization of many of his works, he also was known to sometimes use rather intense colors:
