Artists who are considered photorealists include Chuck Close (such as his painting Frank), Robert Bechtle, Richard Estes, Audrey Flack, and Ralph Goings.
The term photorealistic does not imply the painting was done from a photo, merely that the level of detail in the painting is comparable to that found in a photo.
