Ferdinand Victor Eugene Delacroix born April 26, 1798 and died August 13, 1863. Delacroix was the leading exponent of the romantic painting in France. (romanticism)
In 1815 Delacroix attended the gallery of the painter that had great influence on his style, tonality, color etc; Gericault. At the same salon in 1824 Delacroix admired John Constable's English landscapes which then reintroduced into France the baroque coloristic tradition that the neoclassical painters had discarded.

The Baroque period approximately ran from 1600 to 1750.

John Constable was born in 1776.

Eugene Delacroix was born in 1798.

Neither artist could therefore be considered to be from the Baroque period.

Some artists that were active in the Baroque period would be Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Poussin, Velazquez, Vermeer, etc
