its a different look on beauty in the past and how society is changing... for in example it used to be "in" to be pale because it meant that you were rich enough to not have to work as a farm hand, and now its cooler to be tan because it means you can afford to go to the salon... also being fat used too mean that you had enough to eat but now means that you are ugly and unhealthy (not meaning to hurt any feelings) ... overall it is just an interesting look at society's changing values
Botero, in his characteristic style, is depicting everyday life, in a family portrait and at a dance.
The message i get is that large people can find love too.
