How are Gustav Klimt's paintings related to his country of origin(Austria)?

His later works where mostly landscape paintings, he stayed at the Attersee (a lake inUpperaustria) in the summers from 1900 to 1916 at the house of a friend. I think it's in a town called Seewalchen, I've seen it a few times, it's a beautiful old house that gets called the 'Klimt mansion'. He painted the landscapes he saw there.
