Some famous names: Paul Cezanne, Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Gaugin, Henri Matisse, Wassily Kandinsky, Pablo Picasso, Marcel Duchamp, Piet Mondrian, Max Beckmann, Pierre Bonnard, Max Ernst, Alberto Giacometti, Willem de Kooning, Jackson Pollock, Barnett Newman, Mark Rothko.
Almost any painting made by any of these artists would be considered modernist painting.
