Were the works of Albrecht Durer available to the general public?

Are there any historians who could lead me to a source that discusses the display or publication of Albrecht Durer's works in 16th century Nuremberg? I would like to know if his art would have been available to the general public of that time and in what way.

Yes. Durer specialized in prints, which were far cheaper to buy than paintings and could easily and cheaply be copied and sold in large numbers. His work was thus widely available to the general public not just in Nuremberg, but throughout Germany and Europe. There's an excellent episode on Durer in the TV series 'Great Artists with Tim Marlow.'
