You do not need to be an artist when you design with Dimensional Fabric Paints. The reason is that you can just make a bunch of squiggly lines and it is YOUR art and YOUR design and no one will have a shirt like it.

1    You start with a nice clean article of clothing. For our purpose, I'm using a new, long sleeve t-shirt, that I got at a dollar store.
You can buy the dimensional fabric paints at your local Walmart or hobby shop for very little money. I bought these Tulip paints that come in sparkles, flat/"slick", and metallics. If you'd like a larger selection, visit their website for more colors. The fabric paints I found are in beautiful, bright, sparkly colors that would look good on almost any color shirt!

2    Place something in between the top layer of fabric and the bottom. I used a bag. You can use a plastic bag or anything else that will stop the paints from running through.
*Usually, the paints DON'T run through, but if you put a lot down, or press it in, it will go through.*

3    Flatten the wrinkles. You don't want to bump into anything if you are trying to draw a straight line.

4    Start drawing! You can make flowers, letters, squiggles or anything your heart desires. Have fun with this step! Remember, no matter how it turns out, it's your design. If you flub it, just put something over it, like a flower, or a ladybug, or something cute.

5    Let your design dry for twenty-four hours. If you put on a big glob, the outside will be dry but the inside might still be gooey. If that's the case, let it dry more.
After 72 hours you can machine wash. They suggest mild soap and line drying, but I toss everything in with my regular laundry and nothing happens.
