Sports Theme
If the boy is a sports fan, paint his room using the colors of his favorite team or some of the symbols and colors of his favorite athlete. For example, every NASCAR driver has a particular number and car color that fans can use to decorate a room. Use licensed products with the team colors and logo, including bedsheets, curtains, posters, nightstands and shelves to hold items such as autographs and pictures.
Movie Theme
A movie theme for your boy's bedroom can be done several ways. You can decorate the room with posters and merchandise from your boy's favorite movie and use paint colors that are dominant in the movie merchandise. Your other option is to choose a part of the movie and model the room after it. For example, if your boy has a favorite superhero movie, you can make his bedroom look like the superhero's lair.
