Use pink paint as the foundation of your theme, color scheme or overall decor plan. Create patterns, texture or other design elements through the use of pink paint and a complementary or contrasting color. Or, choose furniture and other decorative items that play off of or complement the pink paint.

    Painting Patterns
Include other colors along with pink to paint patterns directly onto the wall. White stripes or chocolate brown circles, squares and rectangles can add dimension and interest to the walls. Or, sponge darker shades of pink or purple onto the walls. Paint the lower part of the wall in a deeper shade of pink with the top portion and ceiling in a lighter pink. Darker shapes, such as hearts, ribbons and bows, flowers or butterflies can work with the pink foundation as well.

    Furniture
Dark wood furniture will pop off of lighter pink walls and lighter or white furniture will stand out when accompanied by darker or brighter pink walls. Your furniture should play into the overall color scheme and theme of the room's decor. A white daybed and dresser with a pink-and-white striped chair would work in a little girl's room with a pink butterfly theme. Deep espresso-toned furniture would work in a contemporary nursery or teen's bedroom with geometric shapes on the walls. Any color of wood furniture could work in a pale pink country garden-themed family room or parlor.

    Accessories
Your accessories can draw attention to the pink paint or work to diminish the impact of the pink paint if it's not your favorite element in the room. Hang long curtains that go from the top of the windows and pool on the floor in neutral colors such as white or ivory to break up the pink walls. Place pink candles and flowers on shelves, side tables or wall shelves to accentuate the pink paint. Pink throw blankets or toss pillows in the same shade of pink as the walls can tie a room together if you use all white furniture and linens. If you like the pink walls but don't want too much pink in the room, tone it down by using fabric with patterns that include a little bit of pink with other colors, such as floral prints with yellow, white and pink.

    Theme and Color Ideas
Pair bright pink with a vibrant orange for a high-intensity bright room. Pale pink and yellow can work for a floral or country garden theme. Pink and lime green or chocolate brown go together for a bright modern theme. Butterflies, flowers, unicorns, ballerinas, cherry blossoms or any other theme that involves the color pink can work as the focus of your decor.
