I guess what you mean is Van Gogh famous painting "Stary Night" and Josh Groban's song is Stary, Stary Night (Based on the Painting). Van Gogh painted Starry Night while in an Asylum at Saint-Remy in 1889.
Starry Night is one of the most well known images in modern culture and this painting also has connection with another Van Gogh painting "Stary Sky".
My reflection would be memories of my own warm childhood years filled with imagination of what exists in the night and dark starry skies. Its all about dream and for some it gave religious inspiration. Everyone can have their own interpretation of this painting and I think Josh Groban song gave the best interpretation.
