How can I paint a dog?

not like actually put paint on a living dog but like im wanna paint my friend dog but its reall yhard . HELP

Ok it's a long process but it'll work really well. Take your time and paint with a small brush. look at your dog and look at the parts that are darker and then put paint in that color on your dog. It doesn't have to look like real fur yet bacuse your gonna go over it in the base color of the fur. Just keep on doing this and it'll turn out good.
