Main differences between Chinese landscape paintings and American landscape paintings?

I'm curious as to what the major differences are between the two. I've read that Chinese painters reached a point where they weren't creating a painting of the world around them, but instead they thought of it as an extension from themselves...Let me know of anything you could think of. Thanks!

Perspective. American landscapes are based upon the vanishing point. Chinese Landscapes are painted so no matter where you look, it's the center of the images action.
