What would be the best pain colours to mix to make...?

Hi! I'm doing a painting of Castiel from Supernatural and can't quite figure out the best colours to mix for the colour of his trench coat. It would be great if someone could explain it :) I'm using acrylic paint.

Try to put as much shade value as possible in his coat to give it a 3d effect. Start with darkest black you can to lightest grey and hit as many shades in between!
