What are some colours used by the french artist Paul Cezanne in his work? I've heard he was well known for his use of colour and am doing a project on him.

Cezanne's palette is unique - combining the bright colors of the impressionists with the earthy colors of the traditional 19th century French palette. It's a subtle palette, whose colors are strong and bold. Cezanne painted wet on wet, which has the effect of infusing the colors with a fullness and a certain muted luminosity. Like the Impressionists he used earth colours that helped form the basis of his palette (burnt and raw umber, burnt and raw sienna).

There was a black made from burnt peach pits, both an emerald (Veronese) and Viridian green, yellow ochre and French Ultramarine blue. There was Carmine, a French Vermillion and a bright semi-opaque yellow in the palette also.
