Every time I turned to see William Waterhouse's The Lady of Shalott, I would be deeply impressed by the beautiful atmosphere. It made me more admire Waterhouse's painting performance and his vivid characters and plot. In the painting process, I constantly experience these poignant and varied strokes of the feelings of Waterhouse aesthetic accomplishment, which was a happy process for me to enjoy. But it was difficult to capture the subtle temperament.
What really made John William Waterhouse known by the society was The Lady of Shalott (1888), which was completely made with the British pop emotional conformation image and the theme from Tennyson's poem. The original meaning: in Shalott, there was a beautiful girl trapped in a castle by God. So she could only admire her idol Lan San Siro knight through the mirror image by the window. Someday she could not help looking out and then the bad luck fell down on her: the mirror was broken, the thread wrapped her and then she was subsequently driven to the dead land.
The painting showed Shalott sitting in the boat towards death. This was a previously rare solitude image, setting the sentimental, mysterious, alienation, elegant feelings in a body, which not only responded to Vitoria's suppress emotions, but also had the unspeakable empty sad imagery. Numerous detail symbols were also consistent with the popular taste. This painting was the opening work of Warehouse's tone, revealing lonely narcissistic feelings in his works.
