A horse theme is appropriate and whimsical for many different interiors. For the horse lover in your family, create a horse-themed room with wallpaper and paint. Wallpaper murals may be used to cover walls while paint provides a soft backdrop. Look for most of the supplies to create a horse-themed room at your local home improvement center, or decor or wallpaper stores.

Apply a coat of interior paint to three of the room's walls. Choose nautraul-tone paints, such as green, soft brown, beiges and taupes. Let the paint dry completely and, if desired, apply another coat. Let dry.

Apply horse-themed wallpaper to a wall. Cover the wall from floor to ceiling with paper for a focal point. Position the bed against this wall. Add a horse-themed border at ceiling height or create a chair rail around the perimeter of the room. Add trim or molding, if desired, to finish off the border.

Use cutouts from the wallpaper to create a mural on one of the walls. Affix the cutouts to the wall to create a pastoral scene. You can add detail to the mural by using precut stencils or painting horse-inspired designs like horseshoes, barns, bridles, hay stacks or saddles.
