Also have a look at Guardi. I would recommend Frank Auerbach, who made almostabstract paintings of London being reconstructed in post-WWII London.

If it's City Life, with lots of people portrayed, then may I suggest the Harlem Renaissance artists.

Look at Canaletto the paintings are of Venice and are magnificient
