While van Gogh and his paintings are unique in many ways, the subject matter, or personal artistic technique in this particular painting is not all that unique for him.
“Starry Night” is not the only Starry Sky painting that Van Gogh ever created.

(I think that it would be easier to point out the similarities rather than the uniqueness between Starry Night and other van Gogh works.)
