In the summer of 1881, Renoir painted Luncheon of the Boating Party. From the painting we could see the portrait of Renoir's wife Arina Sarigo. She was painted in the foreground, playing with a dog. The witty woman, good wine, beautiful scenery, elegant game and interesting talk (one of the main attraction of Paris life) made Renoir immersed in the atmosphere of "Moulin Rouge street dance" which originally encouraged him. Naturally, in this case, Renoir did not feel any social restrictions and he still took his ease with unique impressionistic writing, using a set of all the rules in order to get the vivid and fantastic composition and more than ever to highlight the individual form with more use of more vibrant colors. It could said that this painting was the last work of Renoir during impressionist period, but also the brilliant summary of his youth.
Lust was Renoir's basic artistic impulse. He did not think it would limit his art, on the contrary, he vaunted it for this, "The breast is a rounded and warm thing. If God does not create a woman's breast, I may not have become an artist." He was not aware of every time his passion was so full of charm and every impression got from the nature was reconstructed by free fantasy. He watched the nude models and painted with flowers; at the same time, he saw a bunch of roses and carefully studied the skin's tone. Even in his later years, Garner's blazing sunshine and heady confidante color also excited his passion and raised his passion of sublimation to the level of art. Renoir treated the flesh like treating a piece of delicious lamb meat with no diffuse unbridled greed.
